<p><strong>(ST. LOUIS, MO.) April 13, 2010</strong> – U.S. Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond is stepping out of the political arena after what will be 40 years of service. In 1973 Bond became Missouri’s youngest governor. He served two nonconsecutive terms as governor and two years as state auditor before entering the U.S. Senate in 1986. On Friday, April 16<sup>th</sup>, 2010 Third Congressional candidate Ed Martin will salute Bond’s service. Martin is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser with some 500 friends and supporters expected to attend.</p>

<p>“Kit Bond has spent years fighting for Missouri. He’s worked tirelessly to help secure funds for defense projects and keep jobs at Boeing not to mention his commitment to transportation and agriculture in our area. We’d like to show our appreciation for his service to our state,” said Martin.</p>
