The [...]]]> The Historic Power Grab by the Obama Administration Continues

One of the greatest blessings of the internet age is the ability for anyone anywhere to share their beliefs and their opinions in and open and free manner. This freedom, like many under the Obama Administration is in danger of being stripped from all Americans.

The U.S. House’s Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the U.S. Senate’s version of the bill, the Protect IP Act (PIPA) are being sold to Americans as a means of protecting intellectual property rights. Like any other Federal Power grab, the law is written so broadly that any website could be shut down for the thinnest of reasons.

If we have learned anything from the Obama presidency, it is that powers of this scope will eventually be abused. Neither the Obama Administration, nor the Attorney General’s office nor any private party shill should be allowed to deprive Americans of their constitutionally protected rights of free speech. Handing the Federal government a tool like SOPA or PIPA will give the Feds what they need to do exactly that.

We are just nine months away from ending the Obama nightmare, but Harry Reid and the liberals in the Senate plan a vote in the next few days on this bill leaving their friends in the vast bureaucracy the pretense they need to shut down Americans exercising their freedom of speech.

Do not be fooled by “Republicans” in both the House and the Senate. We know that being in the GOP does not necessarily mean you are a friend of limited government. We must hit the phones, email and fax machines to let our elected officials know that if you pass this bill, WE WILL VOTE YOU OUT!!!

Please contact your Congressman and Senators immediately and kill the SOPA bill! Harry Reid wants to bring this to a vote as soon as possible so we must fight now to protect our freedom.

When 71% of Missourians said “no” last August via Proposition C, the Health Care Freedom Act, Obama administration stooges like Eric Holder and David Axelrod claimed that its passage was somehow NOT indicative of how Americans felt about Obamacare.  Although the majority of Americans are vehemently opposed to it, they are pushing ahead and forcing MObamacare on Missourians.

“We didn’t want Obamcare when Pelosi-Reid-Obama forced it on is, not when we voted for Prop C in record numbers and not now when Jay Nixon is secretly implementing MObamacare,” said Martin. “Our elected officials have treated us as though they always know better than the people they represent, and it’s become clear that the people have had enough.  I challenge all who cherish freedom and our way of life to stand with me in saying NO to Mobamacare.”

(Mobamacare is the term to describe the scheme to implement Obamacare here in Missouri through minions of the President, namely Governor Jay Nixon.)

A reading of the Constitution through the original understanding of the Founders and Ratifiers makes it quite clear that any national health care plan, or national public option, is not something that was delegated by the People to the Federal Government in the Constitution.

However, the courts, politicians and many commentators have interpreted (and re-interpreted) the Commerce Clause, the general Welfare Clause and Necessary and Proper Clause in ways not intended by the Founders so as to justify such programs under the Constitution. They are most certainly wrong. A number of states are considering legislation to effectively nullify any future national health care plan.
