(St. Louis) – October 15, 2011 – Ed Martin’s Campaign for Congress raised over $115,000 in the third financial quarter with 553 individual contributions.

“We had 433 people give under $200 or less and those are the people that really need representation in Washington,” said Martin. “I want them to know that I am not spending their hard earned money on expensive consultants and upscale cocktail parties but on getting the conservative message out.”

A week from today, Ed will attend his 50th “Ask Ed” Meet and Greet. These are opportunities for Ed to stoke the fire that is the conservative movement while listening to the voters of MO-2 about what they are most concerned about.

“Above all else, we need to get the message to our young people that our best days are not behind us,” Martin continued. ”America can do better, and if we get our young people to believe in our conservative principles, it will do better.”

While it’s been several months since Ed announced his run for congress, the shear amount of people that have donated to Ed’s campaign makes it seem as if his last campaign never ended. Ambassador Wagner may have some friends with deep pockets, but there is no denying the support for Ed knowing that over 94,000 people, many of whom live in Missouri’s new second district, have gone to the ballot box to say, “I’m for Ed”.

President Obama to attend $25,000 per person fundraiser today at home of major stimulus recipient Tom Carnahan in St. Louis.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Americans for Prosperity, The St. Louis Tea Party, United for Missouri and many other organizations advocating for small government are holding The “Cut Spending – Create Jobs” Rally today from 5:00pm to 6:30pm in St. Louis’ Forest Park along Lindell Blvd. to protest the President’s reckless spending and his unwillingness to listen to the American people.

(St. Louis) – October 4, 2011 - When 71% of Missourians voted down Obamacare’s healthcare mandate, the Obama administration still didn’t get the message that the majority of Americans don’t want Obamacare. Now, Governor Nixon joins Obama in thwarting the will of the people by attempting to set up a healthcare exchange in Missouri to implement the first stages of Obamacare.

In response, the Ed Martin for Congress Campaign launched www.StopMObamacare.com. In the past two weeks, over 1,000 Missourians have signed the petition to tell President Obama and Governor Nixon that the people of Missouri have had enough.

“Governor Nixon’s scheme to help implement Obamacare, now referred to as ‘MObamacare‘, is another prime example of Obama’s plan to ‘fundamentally transform’ America regardless of what the American people want or what the Constitution allows,” said Ed Martin. ”Obama is in St. Louis today so that Tom Carnahan can pay him back for the $107 million stimulus dollars with a $25,000 per person fundraiser at Carnahan’s home. Obama should take a break from collecting payback for “spreading the wealth” to his friends and grant Missouri, along with every other state, a waiver from Obamacare like the 1,700 he has already handed out.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(St. Louis) – October 3, 2011 - As the Carnahan clan prepares to host President Obama at the St. Louis mansion of Windmill Mogul Tom Carnahan, Ed Martin has sent a letter requesting that famed Congressman Darrell Issa open an investigation into the $107 million Stimulus payment that the Carnahan family received.

“We are seeing that “pay to play” Chicago-style politics has extended to Missouri with President Obama coming to town to cash in on the Stimulus payments to the Carnahans,” said Ed Martin. “It is high time to investigate exactly how Tom Carnahan requested and received the $107 million. We need to see all applications, all correspondence, and while under oath we need answers from all the Carnahans as to how they received the money. In these difficult times, Americans want to know why some connected insiders think it is okay to take millions for themselves and their families.”

(St. Louis) – September 29, 2011 - After a spirited debate between Ambassador Ann Wagner and Ed Martin, MO-2 voters came away knowing they have a fighter for them and their families in Ed Martin. Ed’s message that “voting is not enough” clearly resonated with the crowd.

“If you didn’t know it before, this debate proved that Ed Martin is the true conservative in this race,” Dave Nations, Des Peres Resident.

“Ed has been walking the walk in St. Louis for years, and I have no doubt that’s what he will do in Washington,” said Chuck McCloskey, President of St. Louis Pachyderms and Ballwin resident.

“With Ed as our next Congressmen, I know the future is bright for St. Louis,” said Sandy Cathcart, Bridgeton resident.

Scripted answers from handlers may have worked in the past, but the American people have awakened. They want genuine answers from serious people that care about the people they represent. Ed’s lead in the polls and in the ground game will no doubt benefit from his principled answers in the debate.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(St. Louis) – September 12, 2011 - Ed Martin, candidate for Missouri’s Second Congressional District, is launching a new website, (www.StopMObamacare.com) to show President Obama and Governor Nixon that Missouri is still a sovereign state that represents the will of its people. And that we don’t want the Missouri implementation of Obamacare, so-called MObamacare!

When 71% of Missourians said “no” last August via Proposition C, the Health Care Freedom Act, Obama administration stooges like Eric Holder and David Axelrod claimed that its passage was somehow NOT indicative of how Americans felt about Obamacare. Although the majority of Americans are vehemently opposed to it, they are pushing ahead and forcing MObamacare on Missourians.

“We didn’t want Obamcare when Pelosi-Reid-Obama forced it on is, not when we voted for Prop C in record numbers and not now when Jay Nixon is secretly implementing MObamacare,” said Martin. “Our elected officials have treated us as though they always know better than the people they represent, and it’s become clear that the people have had enough. I challenge all who cherish freedom and our way of life to stand with me in saying NO to Mobamacare.”

www.StopMObamacare.com will gather signatures and help galvinize opposition to MOBamacare.
(Mobamacare is the term to describe the scheme to implement Obamacare here in Missouri through minions of the President, namely Governor Jay Nixon.)

Dear Friend,

Are you fed up with Washington? Are you tired of seeing our country throw cash after clunkers, mortgage our children’s future and bow to foreign powers like China? Are you sick of seeing our so-called leaders sink us farther into debt while our jobs continue to evaporate?

Well, I am. And I need you to help me do something about it.

I’ve decided it’s time to stand up and do something about to clean up Washington: I’ve decided to help Ed Martin become our next Congressman!

Ed Martin asked me to be Chairman of his campaign and I said YES! With Todd Akin vacating this seat to run for US Senate we must elect a principled conservative to continue his pro-growth, pro-family, pro-America struggle.

I know Ed is the best possible choice.

Unlike so many politicians who continue to betray our trust and let us down, Ed says what he means and means what he says. Ed makes no apologies for his conservative beliefs and principles. We need elected officials with conviction, passion and courage. And that’s my friend Ed Martin.

I’ve known Ed for years but really got to know him, his drive, and character in 2009 when he took on the liberal golden boy, Congressman Russ Carnahan. Ed organized and ran a grassroots campaign like I have never seen. Although he came up short, Ed held Carnahan to 48.9% … UNREAL!

Thanks to Ed’s extraordinary effort, Republicans picked up the Jefferson County Executive, the County Council majority and a number of state legislative seats in Jefferson and St. Louis County. Ed’s hard work paid off and changed Jefferson County from blue to red. I was proud to help in that effort and I can’t wait to hit the campaign trail now.

Ed is exactly what we need…a fighter.

Ed isn’t just some Johnny-Come-Lately. Ed’s been right here, fighting for us, for years!

Ed’s commitment to our jobs and families was no more evident than in 2008 when InBev was in negotiations to take over Anheuser-Busch. Ed started SaveAB.com to combat the takeover and gained 85,000 followers to join the fight. While the effort was unsuccessful, as a private citizen, Ed chose to stand up for what he believed in and fight for what he knew to be right. Ed had nothing to gain other than helping American workers keep their jobs.

Ed was Executive Director of Missouri Club for Growth, the low-tax, small government advocacy group. Ed also served as the president of Missouri Roundtable for Life and founded the group Term Limits for Missouri to ensure all Missouri office holders are held accountable.

But good intentions and a great work ethic aren’t enough in today’s political world. That’s why we need your help and we need it now!

Campaigns are costly, from the yard signs, stickers, mailings and TV time to get the word out about Ed. This is why I am asking you to please support my friend Ed Martin with a contribution TODAY of $100, $250, $500, $1,000, or even the maximum contribution of $2,500. There is no one I know that works harder than Ed, and you rest assured knowing that he will earn every penny that comes his way.

The power grab in Washington is the fault of both Democrats and Republicans and will require “outsiders” like Ed Martin, who refuse to go along with the status quo to bring the voice of the people back to the forefront of our country’s agenda.

Last year at this time, Ed Martin was surging in the polls against Russ Carnahan on is way to doing something no Republican had done in St. Louis in over 50 years. Ed earned almost 48% of the vote in a district that was 60% Democrat! Now, in a new district that is 53.5% Republican, Ed leads his opponent that establishment has dubbed the “favorite” by over 22%.

Today, we are having a Money Bomb for Ed in honor of Constitution Day to elect a true Constitutional Conservative to the U.S. Congress. With your continued support of $100, $500, $1,000, or even the maximum contribution of $2,500, I believe we can elect Ed Martin and take a large step in restoring the Constitution for our future generations.

Please support Ed as much as you are able:

With Jay Nixon in Cahoots With Obama, You Must Act and I Will Defend Your Leadership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(St. Louis) – September 15, 2011 – Over a year ago, Missourian’s flat out rejected Obamacare with 71% of the vote. An interim Missouri Senate Committee has been tasked to study the Missouri Health Exchange Commission required by Obamacare. This Commission is the first step in implementing Obamacare which would have devastating effects on an already stagnant U.S. economy through “job killing” tax hikes. Today at 8AM, the interim Senate Committee will be holding a meeting to accept public testimony. Below is Ed Martin’s testimony to the Committee’s Chairman, Senator Scott Rupp in which he asked the Missouri Leadership to defend the will of the people.

Dear Mr. Chairman,

One of the grave threats to our nation is Obamacare. It is a bad bill of over 2800 pages (with its two companion pieces of legislation) and it will destroy health care, damage our society, and centralize power in the federal government in a way that our founders never intended and that we should resist with all means.

I oppose the state setting up a Health Insurance Exchange by Missouri. We have seen already that Governor Jay Nixon is in cahoots with President Obama. Not content to just campaign for Obama in 2008, Nixon is now implementing the Obama agenda by accepting Obamacare dollars and preparing to take the next steps toward Obamacare’s obvious goal of government-controlled health care.

Please start now: say NO to Obamacare. Missourians don’t want it AND it is outside of the scope and power of the federal government as limited by the U.S. Constitution.

I offer you my assurance that, when in office, I will be on your side (and will cover your back) against the federal government.

Thank you for leading on this issue.

All the best,
Ed Martin

“When you work with someone, you hear what is really happening and that’s what happened yesterday at McArthur’s” said Ed Martin. “Workers are feeling more strain and worry and business owners are feeling pinched by high fuel prices, too many regulations, and soaring health care costs. McArthur’s Bakery and businesses like it are the backbone of America and they are under assault by Obama and his policies. We need elected officials who will not go along but will fight back.”
