We the People Health Care Summit

If Carnahan refuses to meet with the people – we’ll take the people’s message to Carnahan

(ST. LOUIS, MO.) March 3, 2010 – No matter how you slice it the majority of people don’t want the Health Care reform President Obama and liberal Democrats are trying to force on them. Last week’s Health Care Summit did nothing to change that fact. Yet Obama and Congressman Carnahan refuse to listen to the people they are supposed to be serving.

Carnahan has been invited to attend a “We the People Health Care Summit” Wednesday, March 3rd. The meeting is open to the public. No one will be given choice seats, refused entry, or turned away like we saw happen at the one town hall Carnahan tried to hold.

In typical Russ Carnahan fashion he is expected to ignore the invite sent to him and turn his back on the people of the 3rd district. His obvious lack of interest made this headline in The Missouri Record “RepCarnahan Embarrasses Missouri.” The journalist went on to assert this criticism:

“One gets the impression that Carnahan will vote however he is told, but since no one has told him what to do, he just sits patiently…Whatever the solution, Missourians can be confident that none of it will originate with Rep Carnahan.” (Patrick Tuohey, The Missouri Record, Jan. 27, 2010)

“Congressman Carnahan needs to listen to the people, like I do; if he did he would know how to vote in Washington. And he could actually be proactive and help come up with a health care reform bill that was by the people –for the people,” said 3rd district Congressional candidate Ed Martin.

What: “We the People Health Care Summit”

When: Wednesday, March 3rd from 7pm-9pm (the last town hall drew more than 450 and continued past 9pm to allow everyone a chance to talk)

Where: Two Hearts Banquet Center located at 4532 South Lindbergh Blvd.

Anyone wanting to address Congressman Carnahan, voice concerns, or make a comment is encouraged to do so. All comments will be recorded and sent to Carnahan since it seems he won’t be able to attend yet again.

***Missourians aren’t just standing by waiting. In addition to voicing their concerns a proposed bill, the MO Healthcare Freedom Act, was set to be debated on the House floor today. The bill to stop federal intervention on health care choices would put it to a vote of the people in November.
