While Congressman Carnahan takes a shoulder shrug approach to job cuts Congressional candidate Ed Martin takes a stand.
(ST. LOUIS, MO.) Feb. 4, 2010 – Congressional Candidate Ed Martin is appalled that President Obama is proposing yet another move that would cut even deeper into Missouri’s jobs.
“The Obama administration has proposed to cut funding for Boeing’s C-17 made right here in St. Louis. This is unacceptable – both from a national and local standpoint. This proposed cut would impact an estimated 900 local jobs -that means even more of our neighbors out of work unable to support their families. But it’s no surprise Russ Carnahan is simply standing by allowing this to happen. He was silent as Anheuser Busch was taken over, as Chrysler closed their plant, and as the Obama-Pelosi-Reid wasteful spending spree continues,” said Martin.
Martin met with some 40 concerned Jefferson County residents at a Jobs Town Hall in Festus Tuesday night. While Congressman Carnahan, as part of his ongoing efforts to be the most disinterested representative in the US house, spent the day meeting with representatives of German industry and trade. Missourians deserve more than just a shoulder shrug approach to keeping and creating jobs in our state. The good people of Missouri expect and deserve more.
