Update 1/15/10: Thank you for making last night’s “Town Hall on Health Care” a huge success! More importantly, thank you for showing Russ Carnahan and Congressional Democrats that the people of this district will not be pushed aside and silenced on this life-or-death issue:
If you were there, you know that our turnout was huge — 450 attended in person and another 145 of you watched a live stream on line at ATraditionalLifeLived.com.
If you missed it, check out video from the event at: SpikeSTL.WordPress.com or read today’s coverage: Opponents of Democratic health care overhaul pack South County ballroom By Jo Mannies, Beacon Political Reporter
And keep checking back for details of our next town hall.

Update 1/8/10: Here is the letter (Acrobat) I have sent to Congressman Carnahan, inviting him to this town hall
As you may be aware, I asked Congressman Russ Carnahan to arrange to have a final town hall before voting for any health care bill. Getting no response, I asked folks to sign an online petition requesting that he make that effort. Many of us are deeply concerned about the impact this bill will have both on quality, affordability and availability of health care services far into the future. I believe we deserve more than a slick brochure mailed to us at our own expense by way of explanation.
I decided to arrange a meeting place, and would like to invite anyone who would like to hear Congressman Carnahan to attend. I do ask that you RSVP, online. We simply want to get a headcount and make sure there is room.
Thank you for your help and support. Feel free to tell your friends. I will be there in any case, and given the opportunity, I’ll tell you what I think, but priority will be given to our current elected representative. Hopefully Congressman Carnahan will be able to attend and give us an account of this very important issue.

I would like to help at the event if you need it. I am a Criminal Law Attorney with my own practice. I have time to help

I hope Mr. Carnahan finds it in his heart to come share his thoughts and listen to ours that will be delivered in a polite and respectful manner. If he decides not to attend, I believe that says a great deal.
Ed:
Unfortunately, I have my January alumni board meeting in Clayton starting at 6:39 and usually lasting two hours. I really should attend as we will be discussing our agenda for 2010.
However, I will keep in touch and let you know later if I can make it.
He does not care what anyone has to say. He has a left wing agenda and so does the rest of the Family.
Can’t wait to hear about how the Congressman explains his support for this bill!

Congressman Carnahan won’t show up, we all know he will be hiding from his constituents, secure in his belief that the support of the unions and acorn will get him re-elected. Hopefully he is in for a BIG surprise! I am sure I am not the only union member that is fed up with this new Democrat party and what they are doing to our country.
It would be a miracle if he even shows up!!! He has no interest in what his constituents have to say or want.
At the well publicized Carnahan town hall this summer at Bernard School, he hardly spoke. After being late for at least 20 minutes, he felt he was in danger and wouldn’t enter the area until it was secure…(according to a St. Louis County Policeman on the scene) he graced the union filled audience with his presence for about 10 minutes and turned the meeting over to his “people”!
Again, he spoke at a Lincoln Automobile dealer in the city this summer, and only the people who agreed with him were allowed to enter the showroom. The elderly were left outside to bang on the windows. They were refused admittance. (Amazingly, this was actually shown on a noon news cast!) If you can afford a Lincoln…don’t buy it from the liberal dealer in the city!
I would love to see that lying weasel squirm! I will be there and “shocked” if he shows!
Carnahan will attend only if the Master Puppeter Pelosi gives him permission. He is controlled by The Devil and will do it’s bidding as instructed. The TAXPAYERS or Missouri are his employer and he works at our behest. He is a failure. FIRE HIM in November. I saw a great bumper sticker that stated, “My child is an honor student and my Congressman is a failure”.
Irregardless of your party you would be acting un-American to vote for an incumbent. Additionally, the Senate and Congress both have not addressed the fundamental issues that are driving healthcare costs. So, you would also be un-American not to voice these concerns.
Go Americans and Stand Up!
I will be there, whether or not Russ shows up. Russ is top of the list, but this year, I am voting out all incumbents. It’s time to make extinct the “career politician”! THIS IS WHY THE PRIMARY ELECTIONS ARE SO IMPORTANT!! PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARIES!!
